I have started this page because I’m making some models that are not for anyone other than me. The one I am working on now is a kit given to me by my friend Dave Myers.
The kit is of a stone building which was first made from hydrocal but now is being made from urethane. The look is the same.
My first task was to wash all the parts so painting will adhere to the urethane. Once that had dried I spray painted the parts the color I thought they should be. The stone I painted a light gray then hand painted some of the stones different shades to make then stand out.
Next I glued the walls together and installed the painted windows and added the glass on the inside. I also created floors with dividers to divide the floors into rooms. I also added LED lights to the ceiling of some rooms. I have added some pictures so you can see some of the process I am talking about.
more to some as I make progress
These are 3d printed parts I purchased from shapeway. As I am making this a furniture company those are the parts I ordered. As you can see the unpainted parts are all connected together and you must cut them apart, clean up the parts and then hand paint them whatever color you choose. They are very nicely detailed parts.

I am finally made some progress. I have been working on the roof. I found the chimney is too large for the spot that it is supposed to be placed on. Not sure if it fits the model that well but I have finished it.

I have pretty much finished this building. Here is a picture of the final product. I mounted it on some Gatorfoam, added lighting and a few objects to finish the scene.
